MediWaste is NOT able to collect if the below standards are not followed.
The DO'S and DON'TS
>>> DON’T put loose sharps directly inside red medical waste bags.
>> DO put sharps in an FDA-approved, puncture-resistant, properly marked sharps box / disposal container.
>>> DON’T overfill red medical waste bags or sharps containers.
>> DO tie (gooseneck tie for red bags) red medical waste bags and ensure that they are no more than 2/3 full (Max. weight per red bag is 25lbs).
>> DO double bag bloody items
>> DO seal sharps containers (the lid and caps is on the container) and ensure that the max level of sharps (identified on the side of the container) is not exceeded.
>>> DON'T use thin red medical waste bags
>> DO use heavy duty red medical waste bags (17 micron or above). Ensure all contents are securely held within bag - no tears and absolutely NO spillage.
Max. weight per red bag is 25lbs
>>> DON’T place medical waste in areas where there is access to the public
>> DO place medical waste in a secure location, with no public access
>>> DON’T place items into any medical waste container that is NOT listed below (NO fecal matter)
>> DO place medical waste in the appropriate containers that is listed below

**RCRA item should be at background radation level before the item are removed by MediWaste. The client must display the radation level the container
